Transfer Caller to Extension

  1. Press the XSFR button then enter the 5 digit extension.
  2. When the staff member picks up he/she will hear you and not the caller being transferred. Tell the extension owner who the caller is.
  3. Let the extension owner decide if he or she would like to take the call.
  • To complete the transfer simply hang up your handset (or) press the XSFR button again.
  • To cancel the transfer press the soft button, first column, second row.

Send Caller Direct to Another Voice Mail

This is not possible with the 36 button Altigen IP Desktop Phone. The closest equivelant is to use the call transfer procedure and the extension owner allows the phone to ring until voice mail is activated. Then hang up which sends the caller to the extension owner's voicemail.

Place Caller on Hold

  1. Warn the caller you will be placing him or her on hold.
  2. Press the gray HOLD button.
  • If using the handset place it back on the hook.
  • If using speakerphone press the blue RLS button to deactivate speaker.
The caller is now waiting on hold status. The Qatalyst phone system currently has no music so the caller will hear nothing while on hold.

Retrieve Caller from Hold

  1. Press the HOLD button again to retrieve the caller from hold status
  • First pick up the handset if you desire using it instead of the speakerphone
  • Pressing the HOLD button when the handset is on the hook will automatically activate the speaker.
