Blocks are handcrafted in Grand Rapids, Michigan from sustainable Michigan basswood. A domestic company called "Uncle Goose" produces American made ABC blocks. Founder of Uncle Goose, the late William Bultman, created the company to fill an empty void in the toy market. No one made those quality ABC blocks like he had when he was a child, so he started Uncle Goose in 1983. Now they make wooden Alphabet blocks as well as other quality toys and his children continue to produce the toys with the same old-fashioned values.
