This is a scanner radio receiver. Radio Shack Pro-668 is the Whistler WS1080. It is functionally the same as the former GRE PSR-800 for the most part as well. The Pro-668 is basically the same radio as the PSR800 but the newest firmware will allow you to charge the scanner when connected to the USB cable (only when there is no audio-not receiving). Like the WS1080, the backlight has a blue hue.
Only a few settings/options are available in the scanner itself
Object Orientated Memory
- The scannable 'object' is any conventional frequency or talkgroup ID.
- Trunking systems and sites are configuration objects that are used to scan ID objects.
- Rather than 'scanning' a trunking system you monitor trunking system IDs.
- Assign the scannable object to one or more scan lists.
- Scan sets are groups of scan lists
