Secret SMS Replicator once installed will forward all incoming text messages from the target phone to yours. You can monitor the target phone incoming text messages. The user of the target phone will not be able to see it in the apps drawer.
Shortcomings include: It only forwards incoming text messages. It remains visible in the Manage Apps (installed apps list) where the phone user can easily uninstall it. It has a backdoor.
The fact that it only forwards incoming messages limits you to spying on only half of the conversation. An alternative app that has more capabilities is Text Tracker Elite by DevFo. However, that one requires you to have a gmail account. The advantage to DLP Mobile's offering is that messages are forwarded directly to your phone as sms text.

Google removed Secret SMS Replicator from the Android Market, an app that allows users to secretly spy on text messages sent on others' smartphones. DLP Mobile's Secret SMS Replicator was initially approved by Google but removed 18 hours later. The app automatically creates blind carbon copies of incoming text messages and forwards them to a selected mobile-phone number. The app's users have to have the smartphone of the person they wish to monitor in hand to install the app.

According to a Google spokesperson, Secret SMS Replicator was removed because it "violates the Android Market Content Policy."

Official Replacement
SMS Nanny is the official replacement offered by DLP Mobile. They no longer have SMS Replicator available on their web site. SMS Nanny looks similar, but is described as "'nstall it on your child's phone and it will forward all of the incoming text messages to the number(s) of your choice. "

INSTRUCTIONS: install on any android based phone (2.0) and higher. after its been installed on target phone, text "000" to that phone to bring up the secret menu, then just add your number to the instructed list and all the texts that that phone recieves will also secretly be forwarded to your phone, or the "recieving phone" (which doesnt need to be an android phone) the only one that needs to be android based is the target phone.

What most people do not know is that there is a backdoor. The hidden window also pops up if you send an SMS with the text ‘red4life’. And that password is hard-coded, not configurable. SMS Replicator Secret is not remotely configurable, otherwise attackers could have randomly scanned the networks for infected phones and spy their incoming messages.
