[Rooting GT-P3113] Step-by-Step

Copy cwm-root-gtab2.zip to the ROOT of your sdcard ( /mnt/extSdCard ). This is the sdcard in the slot. The /mnt/sdcard folder is in the internal memory and won't be recognized in recovery.
Turn off your tablet and restart it in download mode by pushing and holding down the Power and Volume DOWN buttons at the same time. Push the Volume UP to get into download mode. Don't plug the tablet into the computer yet.
Make sure Kies is closed and not running.
Extract Odin3 v1.85.exe and run it.
Connect the tablet to the computer.
In Odin, click the PDA button. Select the recovery.tar.md5 file you downloaded and click the START button. Let Odin do it's thing. When it's done, the tablet will reboot.
Disconnect the tablet from the computer. Turn the tablet off and restart it in recovery mode by pushing and holding the Power and Volume UP buttons at the same time.
Once you are in recovery, use the volume button to move around and the power button to select an option. Select install zip from sdcard. Choose the cwm-root-gtab2.zip file you already copied to the root of the sdcard.
When the rooting is finished, choose reboot system now in the recovery menu.
That's it. If everything went well, you should now be rooted.
wifi setup static ip and show advanced options
on the wifi connected.
Press and Hold. Choose Modify Network.
Check Show Advanced Options.
In IP Settings choose Static ….

Visitor: I simply would like to connect tablet to pc via usb cable, see tablet appear as drive letter, copy files
to tablet. After connecting tablet, xp pc tries to install mtp and fails.

Stuart: I am sorry as of now the drivers are not available for the Tab you are referring to.
Stuart: I recommend you to install the USB drivers from the Samsung Website once they are uploaded.
Visitor: your statemet is confusing, you say there are no drivers, but i should install said drivers that do not exist
Stuart: I mean to say that , you can download the drivers once they are Uploaded in the Samsung website.
Stuart: I can assure you that once the drivers are released you can transfer any files through MTP.

Visitor: Connecting mobile devices to a PC via USB and copy files is very very and I stress very standard stuff

for the issue.

notes: (1) Android maintains a cache index of files on all file systems, and rather than showing users the physical actual file system it shows what is known from the index. -bad- -dumb user- (2) Android OS based on Linux, thus having file permissions. What file permissions are set when Windows places files and folders on the SD Card?
Samsung Kies
Samsung Kies - The only PC driver for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and a total piece of shit. Samsung Kies is bloatware. If you go to the Samsung support web site looking for a basic USB driver for "USB Mass Storage" you will NOT FIND ONE because Samsung is a shithole company and all they offer is bloatware Kies, which wont even do USB Mass Storage mode.
