uTorrent

µTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint. It was designed to use as little cpu, memory and space as possible while offering all the functionality expected from advanced clients.

BitTorrent depends on seeders to make files available to other users. If you don't share then you are taking from the bittorrent community without contributing.

Some people with limited bandwidth or those fearing being detected as a seeder may wish to disable seeding in utorrent.

(1.) Click the "Options, Preferences, and choose Queueing." Type a minimum ratio of 1% in the text box to stop seeding after that ratio has been reached. Don't use zero. A "0" here tells uTorrent to ignore this setting, so the lowest you can set it too is 1.

(2.) Type a minimum time in minutes "1" into the "Minimum Seeding Time (Minutes)" text box.

(3.) Click the "Limit the Upload Rate to (kB/s): [0: Stop]" check box under "When uTorrent Reaches the Seeding Goal" and type "0" into the text box to the right of the check box.

UTorrent stops seeding only after it reaches both minimums. So both 1% of the file has to be seeded and 1 minute must expire. Changing the seeding settings in the preference window only affects new torrents added to utorrent after the changes applied.

Do not use uTorrent to download or distribute files without the permission of the copyright holder.
