compatibility

AMD does not provide any Linux binary drivers for this series or others older than the 5xxx series. In fact for Mint 18 or Ubuntu 16.04 they don't have any binary drivers at all.

The card is supported by the open source ATI driver. Tested in Linux Mint 19.2 the open source ATI driver loads. The card will not perform as well as it did under older kernels using the proprietary binary from ATI.

For Linux Mint 18 and above, you will have to get a different video card for better performance.

choppy video

Youtube + Chromium or Youtube + Google Chrome = bad video.

Youtube + Firefox or Youtube + Palemoon = acceptable (not not great) video playback.
