Directory Browsing
Say that you do not have an index.html or other specified index file, do you want visitors to be able to view all of the files in a web directory from their web browser or do you want them to see a 401 forbidden error?
- Log in to the cPanel.
- Look for the Advanced section, then click on Indexes.
The Advanced section of the Hostgator Control Panel (not the File Manager) is at the very bottom.
You choose "Indexes" then navigate to the virtual host directory or sub-directory you wish to manipulate. The setting for this is inherited by sub-directories as the default setting. It is recommended that you do not allow "Show File Names" on the web site root directory.

This guide is crap and is totally wrong: https://www.hostgator.com/help/article/how-can-i-set-up-webmail-to-go-directly-to-horde-or-roundcube
Goto CPanel -> Filemanger -> then navigate to "/home2/youraccountname/.cpanel/nvdata
The plain text webmail interface preferences are in the nvdata subfolder. Manually edit the plain text file associated with the email user account. It will be a file that ends with "_default_webmail_app"
"Go to /.cpanel/nvdata/user@domain.com_default_webmail_app. There is only the app name in this file, I deleted it and the choose app screen is back."
