PCMan File Manager (PCManFM) is meant to be a replacement for Nautilus, Konqueror and Thunar. PCManFM is the standard file manager in LXDE.
Problem and Resolution
issues
UPDATE: pcmanfm version 1.3.2 on updated Mint Linux Mint 21.1 Vera kernel 5.15.0-102 is broken. smb support is broken after update. Also, pcmanfm has been in decline and is no longer recommended.
The once good and now broken file manager that is no longer in favor.
Current issues:
- Slow SMB network share browsing issue
- Crashes when browsing network shares
- File and directory list does not refresh on network shares
- Unable to fix poor toolbar arrangement (was better in previous versions)

- pcmanfm
- pcmanfm-qt
Uninstall pcmanfm and install pcmanfm-qt - this version seems to fix the SMB network browsing issues.
PCManFM-Qt is the Qt port of the LXDE file manager PCManFM. Libfm-Qt is a companion library providing components to build desktop file managers.
