Engine Oil:
The following John Deere oils are preferred: TURF-GARD
- 30 weight full synthetic
Transmission Flud
- PLUS- 4
Deck Removal:
remember to lock the deck height in the FORWARD position. You typically lock in in the back or depressed position to bring hte deck all the way up. However, to remove pins and deck you need to have the lever all the way up as far as it will go and it also locks into this position. This prevents the deck holding arms below from retracting once the pins are removed as they are spring loaded.
Mower Blade Removal:
bolt on each of the 3 blades is 18mm and standard thread (not reverse thread). Turn counter clockwise to loosen and remove blade.
Belt:
Clutch:
This mower uses the Warner Electric MagStop Residential, TG-2000 and Commercial Clutch/Brake. The MagStop name comes from the permanent magnet brake (magnetic stopping) rather than conventional spring activated mechanical brakes.
