Programming and Operation

Memory Storage

  1. Select frequency in the VFO mode. Be sure set up any desired CTCSS or DCS tones, as well as offset. The power level may be also be set.
  2. Press and hold in the [ V/M ( MW )] key for 1/2 second. A memory number will appear (blinking) on the display.
  3. Within ten seconds of pressing the [ V/M ( MW )] key, use DIAL knob or microphone [ UP ] / [ DWN ] buttons to select a memory channel for storage.

Repeater Shift

144 MHz shift will be 600 kHz, 70 cm, the shift is 5 MHz. ARS = Automatic Repeater Shift.

ARS Feature ON/OFF - hold in the [ BAND ( SET )] key and rotate the DIAL knob to select Menu #4 (ARS). Press the [ BAND ( SET )] key momentarily, then rotate the DIAL knob to enable or disable. Press the [ BAND ( SET )] key momentarily to save the new setting.

Manual Repeater Shift -

  1. Press and hold in the [ BAND ( SET )] key for 1/2 second to enter the Set mode.
  2. Rotate the DIAL knob to select Menu #33 (RPT.MOD).
  3. Press the [ BAND ( SET )] key momentarily, then rotate the DIAL knob to select the desired shift among "RPT.–," "RPT.+," and "RPT.OFF."
  4. Press the [ BAND ( SET )] key momentarily to save the new setting, then press and hold in the [ BAND ( SET )] key for 1/2 second to exit to normal peration.

Default Repeater Shifts - hold in the [ BAND ( SET )] key, DIAL knob to select Menu #39 (SHIFT), [ BAND ( SET )] key and rotate the DIAL knob. Then [ BAND ( SET )] key momentarily to save.

CTCSS Operation

CTCSS setup involves two actions: setting the Tone Mode and then setting of the Tone Frequency. These actions are set up by using the [TONE(REV)] key and Set mode #44 (TN FRQ).

  1. Press the [ TONE ( REV )] key several times, so that "ENC" appears on the display
  2. press and hold in the [ BAND ( SET )] key for 1/2 second to enter the Set mode, then rotate the DIAL knob to select Menu #44 (TN FRQ). This Menu selection allows setting of the CTCSS tone frequency. Press the [ BAND ( SET )] key momentarily to enable adjustment of the CTCSS frequency. Rotate the DIAL knob.
