The 1991 Mustang LX 5.0 is a third-generation Mustang "pony car" manufactured and marketed by Ford using the company's Fox platform and colloquially called the Fox body Mustang.

In 1991, Ford produced 7,850 Mustang LX 5.0L V8 Convertibles (P44E) and 7,229 LX 5.0L V8 Notchbacks (P41E) out of 19,447 total Notchbacks, including 385 Special Service models with the 5.0L, according to Ford production data. The Convertible outnumbered the Notchback by 621 units of those equipped with the 5.0L V8 engine.  The V8 Notchback, weighing about 2,722 lbs, is lighter than the 3,044-lb V8 Convertible. 
Production numbers for the LX Convertible include the “Summer Special” Limited Edition (2,019 Vibrant Red units with white wheels and tops), all equipped with the 5.0L V8.  Notchback figures include Special Service vehicles (used by law enforcement), which were exclusively 5.0L V8 models.  Total 1991 Mustang production (all models, including GT and hatchbacks) was 98,737 units, with notchbacks being the least common body style.

Comparison to the 2011 Mustang GT (as mentioned earlier):  The 2011 Coyote 5.0L V8 (418 hp, 390 lb-ft) uses advanced tech (DOHC, 4-valves/cylinder, variable valve timing), making it hard to match without forced induction. The 1991 pushrod 5.0L can get close with bolt-ons but struggles to reach 400+ hp affordably due to its 2-valve OHV design.

Engine Stalling or Misfiring Erratic engine behavior may also indicate a bad or failing ECM. A faulty computer may cause the vehicle to intermittently stall or misfire. The symptoms might come and go.
