The 2015 V6 engine models include an Eco Boost and a 3.5L base model V6. The 5.0L V8 is the only eight cylinder engine available as an option above the V6 for this model year. A new 2.7L EcoBoost V6 is supposed to offer solid horsepower and torque for those more fuel economy minded buyers without compromising capabilities and the new 3.5L V6 will serve as the base model. Mechanics tend to complain about the problems with the EcoBoost engine and recommend the base model V6 if you want the best combination of good gas mileage and engine longevity.

In government crash-testing, the 2015 Ford F-150 earned a perfect 5-star score, better than Chevy and Dodge. The F-150 offers more safety equipment than the Dodge Ram.
