How to set up an IMAP account
In this example we will set up an imap account on a server with TLS on port 25. The user has an email alias she sends mail by that is different from her account username.
- enter the email address: sara.smith@domain.net and use the account password |NEXT->|
- for account type choose: IMAP |NEXT->|
- enter username: ssmith |NEXT->|
- SMTP server: mail.domain.net, security: STARTTLS (always) |NEXT->|
- It will FAIL, now correct Port to: 25 |NEXT->|
- for Account Options use defaults |NEXT->|
- for Account Name leave blank, for Name Appears: Sara Smith |NEXT->|

How to use identities / aliases
To set up an alias in K9 mail:
- Settings, Account Settings, Sending Mail, Manage identities - click settings button and choose "New Identity"
