BIOS Setup Menu

Follow these steps to open the Startup menu when the computer is powered off.

  1. Turn on the computer.
  2. Immediately press the Escape key repeatedly, about once every second, until the Startup Menu opens.

Opening for Service

There are 2 small ribbon cables and one large flat ribbon cable that attach to the upper half section. You should remove they keyboard first to disconnect them. To reconnect them you will be required to have the keyboard separated from the top half.

You can install "gpointing-device-settings", a graphical utility to set touchpad parameters:

  1. Before adding the RAM, goto the BIOS setup menu > Boot Options > Secure Boot
  2. Switch Secure Boot to Disabled.
  3. Power off, install new memory module
  4. Turn on and ensure the computer registers 8GB total

It is up to you if you wish to turn secure boot back on.
