Something that assholes say when asked a question and they don't know the answer. Also, a shameless promotion of one of many Internet search engines. It is slang for "search for the answer on the Internet rather than asking me."

Google It has become the Internet vernacular for "search for it online," without regards to which actual Internet search engine the search is performed on. In a clever but discontinued marketing campaign by Microsoft the term scroogled was coined to combat the ever increasing monopolistic presence of Google Inc. online. The term scroogled did not catch on while the phrase "google it" continues to have a significant presence in contemporary vocabulary.

Google is your friend - another misguided response from someone too stupid to answer your question. Google is _not_ your friend. Google is a big monolithic soulless corporation that would buy, sell, squash, and eliminate you if there were profit in it.

Don't be an asshole. If you don't have an answer, just say "I don't know." It is axiomatic that one can do an Internet search for the answer to a question.
