Counter Check

Counter Check - a counter check used to be a type of check written at the merchant which you supplied your account information and dollar amount. This is a historical definition as the modern counter check is entirely different.

Good luck finding the original definition of a counter check, as any reference today is directed at those provided by the bank typically upon a customer initial opening of an account. This is not the original meaning of counter check.
