Dish Network and DirecTV scramble their MPEG broadcasts.

DirecTV maintains a list of canceled access cards, which is a card that inserts into a slot on the receiver. On some units the access card is built in. If an access card with a blacklisted CAM ID is utilized, the owner will see a "Call Extension 745" error message.
