GMS was developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) to describe the base protocols. AT&T and T-Mobile are two examples of GSM carriers. GSM Phones is a direct competing technology with CDMA Phones. GSM is one of many Mobile Phone Network Technologies.
