Admittedly, the word microbroadcasting is a misnomer here as the equipment list and suppliers are not all entirely Part 15 complaint. Some of the equipment will be capable of legal FCC Part 15 operation while others listed here more suitable for licensed LPFM operation. A redirect will be created.

Some equipment and suppliers are currently partially or fully omitted such as fmuser and suspicious cze Chinese made clones, and knockoffs until clarification on quality and authenticity is achieved, at least to some degree.

Do-it-yourself equipment kits are partially omitted with some exceptions, for example, Ramsey sold both DIY kits and assembled units so Ramsey is included. Do it yourself project kits will be listed on another page. Mediumwave AM broadcast kits and Shortwave equipment will be presented on another page. All microbroadcasting and LPFM pages are under the this category.

Information presented here is for research purposes only. Do not use this information to operate illegally.

Low Power FM Transmitters: Consumer

Low cost consumer grade equipment to provide coverage around the home, property, or perhaps a city block; relatively speaking. Everything listed here is under $1K and some in the 2 digit price range.

  • Broadcast Vision Stereo Transmitter M3R BV900
  • Broadcast Vision BV 3001
  • DRIVE By BROADCASTING DGX 1050
  • ELE EL-15s (with QN8007 chip) (china)
  • Enersound T-588 2-Watt Stereo FM Broadcast Transmitter
  • Niorfno NIO-T15M (china)
  • Ramsey FM25B HiFi FM Stereo Transmitter
  • Retekess FT11 Portable FM Broadcast transmitter
  • Veronica FM Radio Transmitters
  • Williams Sound PPA-T27 Personal PA Transmitter
  • Whole House FM Transmitter 3.0

Low Power FM Transmitters: Industrial

Included are quasi-professional grade equipment, that is to say that some of it may not be true industry quality (like some or the Chinese units) yet still better quality than those designed for home use. This is equipment you might find on a college campus radio station or local church broadcast setup.

Sus List

recently added: suspicious quality transmitters typically Chinese with names and knockoffs containing components of a wide variety of quality, totally hit and miss, typically splatter and dirty output, use at your own risk.

  • Fmuser (anything)
  • CZE (anything)
  • HLLY (anything)
  • ELE (also on another list above) ex: EL-07
  • BH1414K 15W (generic china)

Antenna

An electromagnetic wave illuminates both an antenna and its feedline. Signal current induced on the outer surface of coaxial feedline may enter it at the antenna feedpoint. Common-mode signals induced on parallel transmission line may become differential at the receiver. Either makes the transmission line an unintended part of the antenna structure, which can degrade the directive pattern and forward gain. A current balun can attenuate unwanted coax shield current. A current or voltage balun can attenuate common-mode signals on parallel line. (consider using a Coiled-Coax Balun)
