Troubleshooting Playback

With decoders installed, ffdshow, and koepi's latest XviD codec, some avi xvid video files still play without video (audio ok, no video). Yet the same files will play successfully in vlan player.

[ISFT]	MEncoder 1.0pre6-3.2.3
[JUNK] MPlayer junk data
[JUNK] MPlayer junk data
[JUNK] MPlayer junk data
[JUNK] MPlayer junk data
[JUNK] MPlayer junk data
[USER]	XviD0035

This seems to be an issue with XviD encoded on Linux with MEncoder.

Software

  • MPlayer will render both video and sound for an xvid with this particular encoding glitch.
