Glitches and Cheats

More than one person can be the same character

First, make P1 choose the character you both want to be. Then unselect the character and move off of it. Move P2 over, and select the character. Go back one screen, then go into the character select again. You should both be on the same character. Both of you select the character. Do whatever you want from there on.

Note: In the character select screen and options, whenever one of you does an animation, both of you will. Also, if P2 chooses a different kind of vehicle than P1, P1 will look strange. Don't worry, this won't actually happen in the game.

I haven't tested this with P3 or P4 yet, but in theory, it should work.

Homebrew Cheats

With the Homebrew Channel (also known as HomebreWare) installed on your Nintendo Wii, cheats can be ran through Ocarina. The cheats will be automatically loaded. Examples of cheats would be infinite star power, increased speed or size of characters, modifying VR or BR, and more.

You must have the Homebrew Channel installed on your Wii before attempting to install and use Gecko OS with the Ocarina Code Manager.

From the Wii Brew web site you can download "Gecko OS" to your computer. Create a folder called "Apps" on the root of your SD card. Extract Gecko OS to the Apps folder. Download and save "Ocarina Code Manager" to your computer. Double click and install it on your computer.

In the Ocarina Code Manager program goto Wiird code database and choose Wii. Click on the letter "M" and find the version of Mario Kart Wii. Click on the Mario Kart game and click "Export to TXT." Open the code file in Ocarina Code Manager and toggle on and off the cheats you would like. Cheats available include growing shells, infinite bullet time, infinite super mushroom, big shells, and many more. Click "Export to GCT" to export the code file to your computer when finished. Transfer the Wiird code file of Mario Kart Wii to a folder named "codes" on your SD card and insert into your Wii. Gecko OS will read the codes out of this folder when you launch Mario Kart Wii from Gecko OS.

Launch the Homebrew Channel and select Gecko OS. Select Mario Kart Wii to run and the hacked cheats will be loaded along with your game. You will now have the cheats in game play.
