Linux Journal

Chapter 16: Ubuntu and Your iPod - HowTo

Install: gtkpod

apt install gtkpod

using Rhythmbox

Rhythmbox is also supposed to work with the iPod

Launch Rhythmbox. Find it in Applications > Sound and Video > Rhythmbox Music Player. Step Two

Connect your iPhone via USB. It will appear under Devices.

Click Music in your computer’s library. Browse for songs to add to your iPhone. Sync them to your iPhone by Dragging and Dropping onto your iPhone’s icon under devices.

using Amarok Music Player

Amarok is not in Ubuntu 19.4 because it was a Qt 4 application and for that reason it was removed from Ubuntu. All applications that do not use the Qt 5 toolkit are also being removed from Ubuntu (and Debian).

Clementine

just type

apt install clementine

Clementine lets you transfer your favorite songs to your iPhone or iPod just like you did on iTunes.

Only works with iPod Classic or Shuffle - not with Touch nor iPhones
