It is a combination browser-addon and TSR application. The Browser Highlighter may become installed on a system without the owners consent. The two main sources of this malware are 1) eBay and 2) Skype. The Browser Highlighter not only integrates with the web browser, it also adds background processes (daemons) that are visible in the Windows Task Manager. The Browser Highlighter is a combination of adware and bundleware. You will see more than one programs running as Processes in the Windows Task Manager associated with The Browser Highlighter.
The Browser Highlighter may cause Firefox to run slow or crash.
The Browser Highlighter uses system memory and may impact the performance of your PC.
Uninstalling the browser addon does not remove the background processes from the system.
Removal
First, uninstall the addon through the web browser's addon menu.
Second, use the Windows ADD REMOVE Programs function in the Control Panel to remove all programs related to TBH.
