The tool used for shrinking Windows partitions is "Disk Management".
Prepare OS for Defragmentation. Disable the Page File (Swap File).
- Start -> Run -> "sysdm.cpl"
- Advanced Tab
- Performance Section -> Settings
- Advanced Tab
- Virtual memory Section -> Change
- Select the "No paging file"
Disable System Protection
- Start -> Run -> "sysdm.cpl"
- System Protection Tab
- Select the drive you want to shrink in the Protection Settings section
- Click "Configure"
- Select the "Turn off system protection"
Defrag the Hard Drive
- Run a cmd shell as administrator
- use the defrag command like this "defrag /u /X c:"

Shrink the Windows Partition
To start "Disk Management", right click on the Windows start button in the bottom left corner of the screen and click on the "Disk Management" option.
