Beginner lan notes - works with PCI ethernet card with digital chipset. (NE2000 compliant NIC cards)
01. How to connect my linux PC to a local lan: . #modprobe /lib/modules/2.0.32/net/tulip.o #/sbin/ifup eth0
Beginner lan notes - telnet into your box from another pc on the lan and have root access.
02. How to login as root via a telnet session #su -l
This is how I was able to get my linux pc on our network here at home.
