Rules of Engagement / Declaration of Faction War

πŸ“Œ Because each Faction HQ is protected by a SAFEZONE the faction's own base and equipment can not be destroyed unless formal war is declared

To protect faction equipment and building accomplishments from being raided and destroyed when the faction members are away from the server, special regions have been created around each faction HQ. As long as the faction members build within the protected region they will not lose equipment due to damage or theft and their buildings will not incur damage.

πŸ“Œ Faction Region SAFEZONE Protection is DISABLED in the event of a qualifying Declaration of War

When a qualifying aggressor declares war on a faction, the faction base and vehicle protection is disabled to give the enemy the opportunity to invade. Not everyone qualifies to declare official war on a faction.

To declare war on a faction and have it recognized as official the following requirements must be met.

1. Another registered faction may declare war on a registered faction

2. A Group of bandits led by a Magnum Registered Player may declare war on a faction if there are at least three or more combatants with one registered.

3. An unregistered faction with one or more registered players may declare war on a faction if there are at least three or more combatants.

4. The faction being attacked must have at least one player online that has not previously announced he is signing off prior to the declaration of war and he must be an officer.

5. If the players of the target faction currently online number three or more yet none are officers, then discretionary judgement by the moderator team may be applied.

6. If a server manager with access to console is unavailable then the faction SAFEZONE can not be disabled and war is postponed to another time or date.

7. If the target faction members leave the server during combat then they are considered to be guilty of combat logging and their protection will remain disabled. Combat logging supersedes offline raiding.

8. The SAFEZONE protection may be re-enabled if combat has exceeded a period of three hours and the target faction members must leave due to life obligations or health related reasons.

9. Faction war will not be permitted during 12:00 - 8:00am US-CST (eight hours during the night) unless all parties agree to leave protections disabled during that time.

10. Moderators are not allowed to use moderator level commands and tools to equip and supply a combatants during a faction war.

Aggressor Faction Declares War. It can be announced via Discord #general-general-general or by a moderator on #faction-discussion if recognized from in game and by a faction leader. The defending faction has 24 hours to respond by logging in to defend or scheduling a time for battle with the aggressor. If no time can be agreed upon within 5 days or less the defending faction forfeits and the defending base region is deactivated leaving it open to raiding by the agressor.

To Summarize the key points:

REQUEST DENIED

πŸ“Œ Unregistered players can not simply call themselves bandits and declare war on a faction by themselves.

give`em a brake

πŸ“Œ Faction war can not commence eternally as players have lives, jobs, school, and bedtime. (see three hour recommendation above)

don't be an AustinTheAussie

πŸ“Œ Combat logging will not be tolerated and is empirically provable (your denial will be easily disproven by simple evidence)

The Three Hour Faction War Recommendation

A faction war may continue past the three hour recommendation. However, both sides must agree to continue. If players from the defending faction are exhausted and have to leave the server for life obligations then the war is not necessarily over, it is merely postponed. The two parties must simply agree on the time to continue the war. If the two parties can not agree on a time, then the time and date for continuation will be appointed by a server moderator. If the attacking party wishes to end the war without a clear victory by either side then the war is concluded. The defending Faction may not declare the war over. The defending faction can either surrender at the terms of the attacker or defend until completely defeated if the attacking party wishes to continue the war during rescheduled intervals.

πŸ“Œ if YOU are being ATTACKED you can not simply QUIT or Declare Peace. You either FIGHT, SURRENDER, or eventually FALL.

There are some very important exceptions to understand, or maybe more precisely said, some clarification that should be made...

πŸ“Œ Anyone can attack a Faction for Any Reason at Any Time. However, the SAFE ZONE PROTECTION of the faction base will REMAIN ENABLED unless the Official Declaration of Faction War conditions are met and a moderator with console access is available.

πŸ“Œ Players declaring themselves as bandits may, at their own discretion, choose only to use the Bandit Kit. However, there is no rule prohibiting players from declaring themselves a bandit and using weapons and gear outside of that which is in the bandit kit. Please do not expect bandits to only use bandit kit gear. We can not stop a player from saying he is a bandit and then using his CheyTac M200 Intervention.

Attention Raiders and Spoilers

So you may feel frustrated that you, as an individual, non-registered player are unable to raid a Registered Faction Base. However, you must understand that attacking a Faction is not a function of PvP, RP, or survival. These factions exist to combat one another and your own personal desire to raid and harass them does not entitle you to demand their SAFEZONE protection be disabled. If you wish to raid a registered faction then join a faction or register one yourself.

As a raider or spoiler you will find a number of outposts that are not protected, and plenty of unregistered faction bases outside of a SAFEZONE. You are discouraged from offline raiding these players. Although it is not a rule violation, you will find that engaging in continued offline raiding has other consequences which can make your existence on MagnumSRP ultimately less comfortable. You will find it more satisfying to engage in combat with other players looking for PvP action.

On a final note you must understand that even though you might meet all of the requirements to declare a faction war as a registered member of MagnumSRP, the moderators and staff of MagnumSRP also have real life obligations and may not be available on a specific day or time to toggle the SAFEZONE protection off and on. If you feel that you meet the requirements but your declaration of war was not recognized, then consider trying again at another day and time. MagnumSRP staff will do our best to accommodate your desires but there is no guarantee given or otherwise implied that your declaration of war request will be immediately honored.

All of the regular resources and gameplay dynamics will likely be available even if you can not start an official faction war at the moment you desire.
