The Palm TX comes with integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a large, bright screen, and solid battery life although the Palm TX's battery is not user replaceable. It has an improved 320 x 480 pixel screen and 128MB of nonvolatile memory. The TX and Z22 are the first new models to return to the Palm name, after the company reacquired the rights to the Palm name. Palm has decided to drop the Tungsten sub brand, in order to highlight the strong Palm name brand.

Locating software from the Palm web site is complicated by a very poor web application running the download site.

Goto http://www.palm.com/us/software/index.html and where the text "Find software for your device" resides is a drop down menu. When the "Palm TX" option is selected a "No Results" error page is displayed. The software search application gets an F - as of July 2007 the web site malfunctions in this way.

Palm includes Media (Media v. 3.1.0.40) which doesn't play video full screen.
