You have to remove the front panel which is the entire front piece including the door in order to perform service tasks like belt replacement.

If you neglect to take note of the wiring that you disconnect, here is a picture showing the correct door wiring.

Consider general Electric Dryer Service when the dryer appliance has malfunctioned.
