Canon EOS 300D Rebel DS6041 Camera

Canon EOS 300D, Canon EOS Digital Rebel, Canon EOS Kiss Digital is a 6.3-megapixel digital single-lens reflex camera manufactured by Canon announced in 2003 as the first digital SLR offered under $1000. The Canon Rebel DS6041 has dimensions of 5.6 inches by 3.9 inches by 2.8 inches. It weighs 22.8 oz. The LCD screen is 1.8 inches. A Canon 1100mAH Li-Ion rechargeable battery powers the camera.

The 300D polycarbonate bodies were originally available in North America in silver color only, whereas the Japanese version was also available in black. Later, black versions of the 300D were also released in the US and Europe. The 300D was the first camera to use the Canon EF-S lens mount. It also takes the EF lens mount lenses. Canon introduced the EF-S 18–55mm as the kit lens alongside the 300D.

usage

charging battery

The battery is not recharged in the camera and the USB port is not for charging. Remove battery and place in the separate Canon battery charger supplied with the camera. When the battery is attached to the charger, recharging starts automatically and the red lamp on the charger starts to blink. The number of blinks per second indicate the charge level.

  • 0 - 50% charged, one blink per second.
  • 50 - 75% charged, two blinks per second.
  • 75 - 90% charged, three blinks per second.
  • 90 - fully charged, solid light.

After the red lamp is a solid light you should continue to charge for an additional hour to ensure maximum charge. The included battery pack is for charging BP-511 or BP-512 model batteries only.

storage card

This camera uses a CF Card otherwise known as CompactFlash for Solid State Removable Storage of digital pictures taken with the camera. Either a Type I or Type II CF card can be inserted into the camera.

menu operations

An on screen menu is used to adjust settings.
