Google Chrome, Google Lively, Google Earth, and other Google applications install an update mechanism named googleupdate.exe, googleupdater.exe, or something similar. GoogleUpdate will continually attempt to access the Internet without requesting permission and without providing an option to disable it. This behavior may persist even after the parent application has been removed. There's no single way to rid the system of googleupdate. Kill the process and it will launch again automatically at a later time. Delete the executable and it will be installed again by a parent application. Enable Hidden Files and Folders to find it. Below are only a couple examples of possible paths. See GoogleUpdate Removal for more information.
