For higher quality video use the S-video socket which is the black one with 4 small pin holes.  The red and white RCA connectors are for audio.  [[File:apex1500back2.png]]PROGRAMMABLE REMOVE CONTROLS: 0672, 0717, 0755, 0794, 0795, 0796=== installation of firmware ===This is both a Region code hack and a microvision hack. The new link for the hack is:* http://www.nerd-out.com/darrenk/Hiteker_1000/1000_firmware.htmIt was moved from dvd-wizardsInstructions for applying these hacks are on the website.(not all Apex AD-1500's are applicable for this hack, tested on a version MD20-1,instructions for getting version are on http://www.nerd-out.com/forum/viewtopic.php?topic=14892&forum=1&90not for serials starting with SV or no letter at all.<BR>yes for serials starting with A, B, C, D as of 1/21/2002*Defeat Macrovision*Enjoy DVDs from anywhere in the world*Change the boring, factory background image. Some way cool custom images to choose from, ModCDs for the Apex AD-1500.* www.apexmodchip.com"this is a very easy hack, and no one should be scared to do it themselves."SOURCE: Our Friends at VCDHelp.com!  http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks?dvdplayer=apex+1500== Support / Troubleshooting ===== Flashing RED LED ===Red power LED flashing with no other functions present is a clear case of a protection mode due to a failure of one or more components in the power supply.=== No Disc Error When There's a Disc ===No disc error is usually caused by dirty optical lens or a faulty lens. Turn it off, unplug it, then try cleaning it with a very soft dry cloth and then try playing a cd which has no scratches.&nbsp;[[Category:Electronics]][[Category:Consumer Electronics]][[Category:Digital Video]][[Category:Tangible Product]]
