Years ago, Google was a simple fast and efficient Internet web search engine. At present Google is a giant technology behemoth seeking total control over every aspect of technology from the Internet backbone itself, to telecommunications, Artificial Intelligence and politics.
Unlike its streamlined, efficient former self, Google Search is now bloated and overmonetized. It’s harder now to find answers that feel authoritative or uncompromised [...] the Justice Department and a group of states will argue that the company violated antitrust laws by striking deals to protect its monopoly position.
SEO (search engine optimization) has ruined Google. Unless you are looking for something obvious, all the search results are websites that are barely tangential to your search terms.
Mason Pelt, notable tech writer says, "Google search is worse than ever, and the company isn't financially incentivized to fix it," and "I'll occasionally use Google to find a specific but only half-recalled crumb of content. Increasingly I use services other than Google because Google sucks as a search engine."

Google Search Now Requires JavaScript to Spy On You
Google now requires JavaScript enabled to use the search at google.com even though enabling JavaScript exposes people to all of the tracking and 3rd party info sharing. Google’s decision to require it could add friction for those who rely on accessibility tools, which can struggle with certain JavaScript implementations. Google wants to make sure third-party tools that give insights into Google Search trends and traffic.
Low Quality Search Results
Those results from a Google search used to be pretty good about ten years ago. Now the quality of search result is terrible. Research shows that Bing and Duckduckgo give better quality search results.
Google Ruined Youtube
In so many ways but most significantly the censorship is repugnant. It does not matter what your political point of view is, you should know that Google needs to respect all points of view yet Google is known for suppression of Republicans. Republican, Libertarian, and Capitalist points of view are often censored, demonetized or deleted by Google from Youtube. Criticism of Covid related government overreach and mask mandate objections in videos caused content creators to be banned.
