Gray owned stations are now going encrypted, with no plans to go back. Seems Hearst and Gray are in competition on who can encrypt all of their channels first! WSMV in Nashville, TN is now encrypted. They give this BS about safety, and such. But it’s to block non-DMA reception (Geo Fencing), recording, ad skipping, etc. Perhaps even subscription costs at some point. Though they say it will always be free.It seems NBC is leading the move toward encryption.
