APCO-25 Phase II capable handheld TrunkTracker V scanner. Scans APCO 25 Phase 1 and Phase 2, X2-TDMA, Motorola, EDACS, and LTR trunked systems, as well as conventional analog and P25 digital channels.

This trunking scanner trunktracks the following types of systems:

basic usage

Use the Volume knob to power on and off the scanner. Rotate to adjust volume level. Squelch level adjustment by turning squelch knob. The large encoder knob has no function during scanning. Pressing the encoder knob enters FUNCTION mode. The MENU button is used for main programming.

Rather than scanning you can press the HOLD / RESUME button near the encoder knob. In HOLD mode you are only monitoring a single frequency. Turn the encoder knob to select a frequency to monitor. Press HOLD / RESUME to continue regular scanning.

The basic flow for adding a new frequency or editing a frequency:

  • Menu -> Program System -> Select System or New System -> Edit Group -> Select Group -> Edit Channel

Important Navigation Buttons.

  • The E button is also YES button. Press to enter menu items, allowing you to navigate deeper in menus or edit.
  • The . button is also NO button. When you Edit Name, double press No to clear unwanted text.
  • The MENU button will halt scanning and allow you to menu, it will also allow you to back out of navigation menus. (like an Escape key)
  • Buttons with number 4 and 6 are like left and right arrow keys, allow you to move cursor on edit text or frequency screens.

To get back to main scanning function press MENU repeat until all the way out.

Pressing encoder knob behaves differently depending on menu or activity. If you are already in programming menu them pressing the encoder knob can behave the same as pressing the menu button to enter a deeper menu level. If in scanning mode then pressing the encoder knob behaves differently.

add analog frequency

  1. Press MENU
  2. scroll wheel to select Program System and press E (YES)
  3. select existing system or choose New System and press E (YES)
  4. select Edit Group and press E (YES)
  5. select existing group or choose New Group and press E (YES)
  6. select Edit Channel and press E (YES)
  7. select existing channel/frequency or choose New Channel and press E (YES)
