Wii Sensor Bar
The Sensor Bar plugs into the Sensor Bar connector on the back of the Nintendo Wii console and is then mounted on or below your TV. It works in conjunction with the Nintendo Wii Remote for motion detection. The official Nintendo OEM sensor bar is about eight inches long and features ten infrared LEDs, five at each end of the bar. The LEDs furthest from the center are pointed slightly outwards, the LEDs closest to the center are pointed slightly inwards, while the rest are pointed straight forward. The Sensor Bar's cable is 11 ft. 7 in. in length.
The Sensor Bar allows the Wii Remote to be used as an accurate pointing device up to 16 feet away. The light emitted from each end of the Sensor Bar is focused onto the image sensor which sees the light as two bright dots separated by a distance on the image sensor, the second between the Wii Remote and the Sensor Bar using triangulation.
- Incandescent light bulbs, candles, space heaters, and sunlight can create problems with the sensor bar.

Too many dots in calibration screen
If there are more than two dots, then it appears there is an additional light or infrared heat source being picked up by the Wii Remote. Avoid sources of infrared light in the gameplay area such as electric, propane or kerosene heaters, flames from fireplaces or candles, and stoves or other sources of heat.
