Nintendo Wii
The Nintendo Wii (pronounced we) is a video game console manufactured by Foxconn and first released in 2006. What made the Wii unique upon introduction was the wireless pointing device control system which detects motion in three dimensional space. It was also the smallest video console, the size of the main unit body being a little over 6 inches tall and 8.5 inches deep.

Review
The Nintendo Wii is notably family friendly, with a greater selection of couch-cooperative group style gaming. There are many family friendly titles without the violence and language of video games for other systems. The Wii also promotes physically active gaming on specific titles.
The Wii is not HDMI digital high definition. The best resolution available comes from the analog Component connection. The Nintendo Wii is also notably underpowered. It has the least powerful processor as compared to its contemporary competitors, the Sony Playstation 3 and the XBox 360. The Wii also has a weak PSU and internal voltage regulator that is prone to failure.
Accessories
The main controller is the Wii wireless remote, often called a "Wii Mote." The mote uses a combination of built-in accelerometers and infrared detection to sense its position in 3D space when pointed at the LEDs within the Sensor Bar.

Howto: Turn off Player 2 Wii Mote without shutting down system
There's more than one way.
- Set the second mote down and after 2 minutes of idle it will automatically power off. -or-
- Press the Home button, goto settings, disconnect all motes and reconnect the player 1 mote. -or-
- remote battery on second mote and put it back in.

Model History
Wii (RVL-001): The original Wii, model number RVL-001, launched in 2006. The original. This is the only model with GameCube support. Most of the white ones, which are the most common, have the older 6 layer board, meaning they are more susceptible to overheating in standby mode. Non-white colors are guaranteed to be 4 layer, so this isn't an issue for those.
Wii Family Edition (RVL-101): The first revision with no GameCube compatibility. However, GameCube games can be played using homebrew. This model is incompatible with BootMii as boot2, making it harder to unbrick in some cases. Does not support DVD playing. New board with less power consumption and less overheating.
Wii Mini (RVL-201): The second and final revision with no GameCube compatibility, no SD card slot, no Wi-Fi support, no component video, and a top loading disc drive.
