This is a sensor present on most cars and trucks known as the Oil Pressure Sensor or Oil Pressure Sender.
An oil pressure sensor (switch) monitors the oil pressure in the lubrication system. This system supplies oil under pressure to all rotating and moving parts inside the engine. An oil pump draws the oil from the oil pan, and pumps it through the oil filter and pathways throughout the engine. Without oil pressure it would not be possible for the oil to move though the engine pathways.
