You are being warned about the site www.wiihacks.com because we have received too many warnings about these people to ignore.

You may wish read the WiiHacks General Rules and Guidelines. These guidelines are not being applied uniformly to all members. Unfortunately, some of the site moderators are corrupt and disregard the cite guidelines altogether.

Concerns

Concerns previously expressed here range from moderator privilege abuse, pirating software, and the collection and abuse of contributor financial information such as credit card information from those that donate money. Furthermore, the nonprofit status of the organization operating Wiihacks.com is unknown, and the tax exempt status cannot be confirmed.

Give Em a Chance

Although there have been some serious concerns about Wiihacks.com brought to our attention, we have removed the details pending further investigation.

It would be interesting to know if the upper echelon of Wiihacks.com site moderation are interested in cleaning the site up and dismissing the corrupt site moderators.

Mauifrog's Rebuttal

On April 14, 2011 it appears a well known Wiihacks.com associate and author of Wii modification and homebrew related installation guides attempted to remove this wiki article. Although it cannot be confirmed it is the same Mauifrog that is associated with Wiihacks.com, it is very likely.

Mauifrog has written many useful guides for Wii modification (softmod) and related topics. This individuals work is well respected. Mauifrog is not considered part of what's wrong with Wiihacks.com.

Mauifrog should not attempt to suppress opposing opinions of the site Wiihacks.com. Oppression is contrary to freedom of speech. Perhaps Mauifrog should focus on addressing some of the serious problems with Wiihacks.com, and thus serving to correct them should result in more favorable discussions here and through the web community among the growing number of Wiihacks.com critics.

Mauifrog shared the WiiHacks General Rules and Guidelines posted on this Wiki and it remains available for visitors to read. It remains up in the hopes that the people running and moderating Wiihacks.com take the initiative to read the rules for themselves and clean their site up, including the dismissal of corrupt moderators.
