Verified experiences with sellers on various online mediums such as ebay, Amazon.com, Gunbroker, Firearms Dct, Auction Arms, and others. Includes bad eBay sellers.

Auction Miscellaneous

Electronics

  • (F) bbmeansbiz on eBay.com - Wyncote, Pennsylvania, United States - He misrepresents item condition, embellishment, separates electronics from necessary counterparts such as its hard to find power adapter in order to make more money; pigeonhole buyers into compulsory bidding on the missing part. "Sold me an antique radio without its special microphone, which he put in another auction at a ridiculous price!" (quote from buyer). Uses weakness in eBay system to maintain an artificially high feedback rating. He might part-out an item which should otherwise be sold as a single unit or would commonly be sold as a single unit in order to increase revenue at the expense of the buyer.
  • (D) micdave on eBay.com - Wilder, Tennessee, United States - He misrepresents item condition, embellishment. Large surplus dealer more interested in selling items than answering eBay user questions. Does not disclose defects. Poor communication. On one occasion an error was pointed out to this seller which concerned a missing piece of an item for sale, micdave did not respond nor did the seller correct the error in the listing.
  • (F) ns7eart on eBay - Seguin, Texas, United States - Item sold but does not arrive to buyer. Actually this seller's feedback has enough warnings that not much more need be said.
  • (F) jbirdhill on eBay - Austin, Texas, United States - This guy sells used electronics that are defective, and he is aware of the fact they are defective, and claims to have "not tested" and sells "as is." When asked simply, "can you at minimum plug it into an outlet and see if it powers on?" he claims he has no time and becomes rude or resorts to childish insults. He is quoted as responding with, "I blocked you from my auctions. Loser!" when he was asked why he wouldn't test a radio. In other listings of his there are items he has tested as claims are working. So, if it is defective and he knows it, he simply says "untested" and refuses to test so he can claim to be unaware the item is defective while stating "as is, no returns." Watch out for this tactic. It gives him an out when he knowingly sells junk, while he maintains feedback by exploiting the technicality of eBay policy.
  • (F) pauls_tv on eBay - Irvine, California, United States - Charges extremely high shipping and will not refund shipping in the event of a problem. Slow to ship. Many complaints on eBay. In this case his feedback does clearly identify this problem seller.
  • (D) ringo.k on eBay - Miami, Florida, United States - Fraudulent listing practices. Action taken by eBay.
  • (F) atlas-outlet on eBay - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Mike Petraglia of Atlas Electronics did engage in harassment of a woman buyer on eBay and made to her creepy threats to track her down using subtle and indirect language in such a way the threat was clear yet eBay could technically not act. Law enforcement was contacted.

Bad Sellers Brief by Negative Experience

The following are bad eBay sellers in order Alphabetical. The overall feedback score does not always tell the truth as there are ways sellers have learned to manipulate the feedback system. There is a loophole that can prevent the buyer from being able to leave a negative feedback to warn other buyers.
