Urethane aka Polyurethane covered bearings (also known as molded bearings) feature a smooth urethane surface cast directly on precision-sealed ball bearings. They provide quiet, non-marring operation with excellent abrasion resistance and durability. Known by the names: Covered Bearings, Urethane Covered Bearings, Polyurethane Covered Bearings, Urethane Wheels

Technically, polyurethane is the polymer, or plastic version of urethane, but they are essentially the same material. Different techniques used in the production of polyurethane wheels affect the quality of the finished product. For instance, if a manufacturer uses urethane designed for non-dynamic applications, it will not have the same durability as a high-quality polyurethane wheel might.

Used primarily in applications that require noise reduction, such as manufacturing or warehouse conveyor lines, Polyurethane covered bearings are just as the name says: bearings with a Polyurethane cover.

The polyurethane tire cover reduces the noise and vibration associated with bearing movement.
