The S5 shipped with Android 4.4.2 KitKat but has received updates, the most recent being 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It has Samsung's TouchWiz software.

  • Display: 5.1-inches

  • Processor Speed: 2.5 GHz

configure Mobile Hotspot

  1. From Home screen, navigate: Apps Applications icon > Mobile Hotspot.
  2. From the Wireless and networks section, tap More networks.
  3. Tap Mobile Hotspot.
  4. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (upper-right) then select Configure hotspot
  5. Tap Configure hotspot.
  6. From the Configure hotspot screen, configure the Network SSID and WPA2 PSK Security and Password
  7. Under "Advanced options" you can configure the Broadcast channel: 2.4 GHz Band or 5 GHz Band

You should consider the appropriate Timeout settings

  1. Tap Timeout settings.
  2. Note Sets how long before the hotspot will turn off after no activity.

  1. settings -> More networks -> Mobile Hotspot
  2. now click the 3 vertical dots menu in the upper right corner -> configure hotspot
  3. set Set Network SSID, Security
  4. Show advanced options lets you select 2.4 or 5 GHz or both
